Pro Opening: Stem Cell Usage and Research

Stem cell research has been a hot item of debate since 1998 when research was released
showing proof of the ability of embryonic stem cells to help treat many modern diseases.
Often, embryonic stem cells are harvested from fertilized human embryos, but current trends are
developing other options.
These other options still fall under direct scrutiny, thanks to their association with embryonic stem cells. However, that is not a fair judgement to make, as many stem cells still have a wide array of uses that can benefit mankind.
