Are stems cells really as useful as proposed?

It has been 24 hours since the opening statement. Since no one has responded with a pro, I will start another statement on the cons of stem cell research.

Although stem cells do potentially offer hope for medical advancement because of their ability to grow into almost any kind of cell, society should try to develop more ethical methods, instead of using fertilized human eggs (which would have become humans). We should wait until those methods are available, whenever that may be. In addition to the ethical dilemma stem cell usage puts us in; no one knows for sure that we can use stem cells to clone organs in humans, because this has yet to be proven.
